You Will Never Listen to This Song the Same Way Again - New Official Pastor Stalking Song

I lifted this idea from the Church Folk Revolution radio show, Every Breath You Take  -  STALKING PASTORS.  I am now hereby making this song the official song on the blog for stalking pastors.  Oh yea.  It completely fits.  I will never listen to the song the same way again.

Oh can't you see . . . . . . You belong to me . . . . See, that's more of that ownership stuff.  Pastors do not own their congregants, what they do outside of church, who there friends are, who they can talk to, where they go on vacation, who they choose for a spouse, etc.

Everybody needs to be singing this song in their head whenever they check out a new church to see if the pastor is behaving this dangerous way!

"Every Breath You Take"

Every breath you take
Every move you make
Every bond you break
Every step you take
I'll be watching you

Every single day
Every word you say
Every game you play
Every night you stay
I'll be watching you

O can't you see
You belong to me
How my poor heart aches with every step you take

Every move you make
Every vow you break
Every smile you fake
Every claim you stake
I'll be watching you

Since you've gone I been lost without a trace
I dream at night I can only see your face
I look around but it's you I can't replace
I feel so cold and I long for your embrace
I keep crying baby, baby please

Every move you make
Every vow you break
Every smile you fake
Every claim you stake
I'll be watching you

By the way, I highly encourage you to check out the Church Folk radio show linked above. It's a 2-hr long program.  My favorite was the first 30 minutes where they really break it down about pastors who stalk their congregants.

If you have ever been stalked by a pastor and are confused about appropriate boundaries for a pastor, you will come away with clear understanding. The show is educational.  They take a very difficult and depressing topic, throw in some light-hearted talk to diffuse the tension, but deal with the subject head-on.  There were many times I was shouting, "YES!" and waving my imaginary white hanky - it's THAT good.  Check it out.

Big thanks to Kevin Oliver, NYTN (Not Your Typical Negro) who sent me the link to the show.  I'll be posting more about Kevin soon.

    1. That's excellent, too, Will. That should be the official song for Wolf Pastors. We'll have to get a whole collection of pastor theme songs depending on their behavior! If I'm doing a post on wolves, I'll try to remember to put that song at the top for background music while reading :)

  2. Seems to me that this applies to what many feel God is like as well.

    1. Probably so, Joel. Especially if their pastor has distorted God's image by making Him seem only angry and controlling. What about the love and grace part, too?

    2. If we think about God and these lyrics, maybe some editing is appropriate, as in "I'll be watching out for you" or "I'll be waiting for you." or "I'll be loving you."
